Replica models from some of my favourite shows, all things Gerry Anderson.
My greatest inspiration came from watching Thunderbirds. All I ever wanted to do was to make models like them. My dad made us kids simple wooden toys and he made me these Thunderbird models to play with in the back yard.
Watching my dad make the wooden toys was the trigger that sent me on this journey. These are several of the replicas I have made. Time though, is not on my side so I don't get around to making many.
Most I have made end up being gifts for for friends.
So much of the challenge is to find the original kits and toys they were made from.
I envy others that get to make many of these models but as stated, time is limited for me.
I made a choice a while ago to stop making these and spend my free time making my own projects.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist and struggle to finish a models unless it is perfect, which is usually not possible.
Many of the originals were done in several scales and varied from each other, so many of these are the bits I like from each version.
I only own a few of these and many were never photographed, but I do enjoy giving people something I have created.
So to get to work on Actual Anderson projects is brilliant. This is a model from Thunderbirds 2065. More in a later post.
